In consideration of the United States’ and New
York State’s recommendation to further protect the health and safety of
employees, subcontractors and vendors from the spread of the virus, the West
Valley Demonstration Project is taking the following steps. As of March 23,
2020, the Department of Energy and CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, its prime
contractor at the West Valley Demonstration Project, are transitioning to a
Mission-Essential level of onsite staffing. Off-site individuals will telework
to the extent practicable while limiting onsite personnel to just those
individuals necessary to maintain Mission-Essential operations. This action
allows us to increase social distancing in order to reduce the potential
COVID-19 infection within our workforce and communities.
